A CASA-aligned flight training and instructional course for pilots to gain a Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) with Grade 3 training endorsement, enabling them to deliver pilot instruction across VFR licences (RPL, PPL, CPL) and build instructional competence both in theory and flight.
Hold a current Australian Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), valid CASA Class 1 medical certificate, and meet English language and regulatory eligibility; additional CASA flight experience prerequisites apply.
In-aircraft instructional practice, principles and methods of instruction, briefing and debriefing skills, lesson preparation, and delivery; theory on instructional techniques, CASA regulatory knowledge, and flight training supervision.
Practical flight instruction demonstrations, CASA PMI (Principles and Methods of Instruction) exam, written/verbal assessments, and a CASA flight test for the Flight Instructor Rating endorsement.
