Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) is a world-class pilot training institution operated by Emirates Airline in Dubai South (Dubai World Central), UAE. Established to address future pilot demand and develop highly skilled commercial aviators, EFTA offers an integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) programme that takes cadets from zero flight experience through groundschool, simulator and aircraft flying to first-officer readiness. The academy’s purpose-built campus includes 36 modern classrooms equipped with bespoke Boeing-designed training software, state-of-the-art simulators, its own 1,800 m runway with navigation aids, independent air traffic control tower, maintenance hangar, and rescue and firefighting services – creating an environment that mirrors real airline operations. Its fleet includes single-engine Cirrus SR22 G6 trainers, multi-engine Diamond DA42-VI, aerobatic GB1 Gamebirds, and Embraer Phenom 100EV very light jets for accelerated jet experience. Cadets live on-campus in serviced apartments with meals included and undergo approximately 104 weeks (2 years) of training. Upon graduation, they earn a Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating and MCC, and can apply directly to Emirates recruitment pathways. EFTA trains both UAE nationals under its National Cadet Pilot Programme as well as international cadets.
