The Qantas Group Pilot Academy is a dedicated airline pilot training institution established by Qantas in partnership with Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) to address growing global demand for qualified aviators. Based at Wellcamp Airport in Toowoomba, Queensland, it delivers a high standard of integrated pilot training blending theoretical knowledge and practical flying experience. The Academy focuses on preparing students with little or no prior flight experience for a professional aviation career, delivering CASA-approved licences and ratings while supporting student development through mentorship via the Qantas Group Future Pilot Program. Purpose-built classroom facilities and on-site accommodation support a full-time immersive training environment. Students learn in Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft, complete multi-engine, instrument and multi-crew cooperation modules, and graduate with qualifications that position them to pursue opportunities across the aviation industry, including with QantasLink, Jetstar and other carriers. The Academy also runs scholarships aimed at increasing diversity among pilot cohorts.
