Course Overview

A postgraduate aviation medicine qualification that gives medical practitioners in‑depth knowledge of flight physiology, clinical and regulatory aviation medicine, human factors, accident investigation and aviation safety.

Prerequisites

A recognised medical degree (e.g., MBBS) and current registration as a medical practitioner; English proficiency as required by Monash.

Eight core units including Aviation Physiology, Hazards of Aviation Environment, Human Factors in Aviation, Aviation Safety & Accident Investigation, Regulatory Aviation Medicine, Clinical Aviation Medicine, Operational Aviation Medicine, and a Research Project.

Combination of written assignments, coursework assessments, research project deliverables, and examinations embedded within each unit of study.
