Course Overview
An NZQA Level 6 aviation diploma designed to prepare cadets to complete the theory and practical flying requirements needed to achieve a Category C Flight Instructor Rating for commercial flight instruction.
Prerequisites
Must be 18 +, hold a New Zealand Diploma in Aviation Level 5 and a CPL, have an Aviation Class 1 Medical, complete the ADAPT prescreen test, meet Fit & Proper Person requirements, and be competent in English; international students require an IELTS (or equivalent).
Modules & Curriculum
Human factors and meteorology at ATPL level, Instructional Techniques Course (ITC), and flight instruction training focused on supervisory skills and teaching techniques.
Assessment Method
Internal assessments including theory testing and practical flight instruction competency checks through flight training evaluations aligned with NZ CAA and NZQA requirements.
License/Certification
New Zealand Diploma in Aviation (Flight Instruction) Level 6 and eligibility to attain a Category C Flight Instructor Rating upon completion.
